2 Critical Responses (3 double-spaced pages each): 25 X 2 = 50 points. You need to choose between Paper 1 (Conrad) or 2 (Ondaatje)and Paper 3 (Gourevitch/Coetzee) or Paper 4 (Roy).
Final Paper (7-8 pages): 40 points
Class Participation: 10 points

Late Policy: For late submissions you need to have a clearance ahead of time or an official note from a doctor. For all papers, your grade will drop 1/3 for every day your work is late. See due dates in calendar below.
Plagiarism: As you work on the assignments for this course, you should be particularly mindful of plagiarism and copyright violation. Every external source that you use must be appropriately cited in your work.
